Hi, I’m Rebecca Dekker

For six years now, I’ve been leading the team at Evidence Based Birth®, doing everything I can to help turn my frustration with our imperfect health care system into energy, passion, and share-able research evidence! I love bringing birth and healthcare professionals together to brainstorm solutions, build connections, and engage in exciting, cutting-edge education– and that’s why I created this conference for you!  

When you attend the 2019 EBB Conference, you can expect to walk away feeling like you are an integral part of the Evidence Based Birth® community. My hope is that you will be energized by our amazing keynote sessions and hands-on workshops. The education you will receive– as well as the networking you will engage in– will hopefully equip and empower you to not only survive—but to thrive in your career!

The charming city of Lexington, Kentucky is within a day’s drive of two-thirds of the U.S. population!

How will you get here? 

Lexington, Kentucky is within a day’s drive of two-thirds of the U.S. population, so we expect many of our attendees to drive! For those of you who need to fly to get here, the conference venue is 10 minutes away from the Lexington Bluegrass Airport (LEX) and about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Our conference venue, the Lexington Downtown Hilton, is an approximately $10 Uber or Lyft drive from the Lexington Bluegrass Airport (LEX). Once you get into downtown Lexington, there is no need to have a car, as there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and fun activities within walking distance.

We know that some attendees prefer to fly into the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati Airport (CVG), which sometimes has more affordable flight fares with Frontier, Southwest, Allegiant, etc. Therefore, to assist those of you who are interested in flying to CVG, we will be providing a free roundtrip shuttle from CVG to the Lexington Downtown Hilton. Shuttle times will be posted later in October, but the approximate schedule will be: 
Wednesday, September 25  leaves from CVG about every 1-1.5 hours starting at 12:30 PM, with the last shuttle ride departing at about 6:30 PM

Saturday, September 28 leaves from Lexington Downtown Hilton starting at 4 AM, with the last shuttle ride departing at around 8 AM.

* Allow for 1 hour and 15 minutes for shuttle travel time to the CVG airport.  

If you would like to fly into CVG, and none of those shuttle times work for you, we would recommend renting a car, as car rentals are very affordable from the CVG airport. Parking is complimentary for on-site guests at the Lexington Downtown Hilton.  

How will you stay here? 

We strongly recommend that you book a room at the Hilton Lexington Downtown. This is where all of our conference activities will take place!  

We have negotiated a discounted rate for our attendees who would like to stay at the Hilton Lexington Downtown—the rate is $139 per room. This is a wonderful rate for a beautiful downtown hotel!  

The Hilton Lexington Downtown will be providing this discounted room block rate later in October. We will let registered attendees know as soon as our rooms are available. As soon as we announce that rooms are available, we encourage you to book right away at that time, as it does not cost you anything up front, and there are only 60 rooms available at the conference rate for Wednesday and Thursday night, and only 50 rooms available at the conference rate for Friday night.  

Once you register, you are welcome to look for a roommate in our private Facebook group, if you wish!

FAQs
What if I have dietary restrictions? 
One of the first things we will do after you register is send you a survey to fill out. In that survey, you can let us know about any dietary restrcitions. We will offer a lunch buffet on Thursday and Friday, and we will have plenty of options for people with special dietary needs!
What happens if I applied to be a workshop speaker?
Workshop applications are now closed. We will begin evaluating workshop applications the week of October 8, and hope to announce our workshop leaders soon! If you are selected to lead a workshop, you will receive free registration + an invitation to a VIP dinner on Thursday evening. If you already paid a registration fee, but later you are invited to be a speaker, we will refund your fee. 
Will I get anything else? 
You will be invited to participate in a closed Facebook group with other conference registrants from now through the end of 2019! This group will give you the opportunity to network and get to know the other attendees, so that by the time you come to Lexington, you’ll already have lots of friends that you’ll be excited to meet! 
What is your refund policy? 
Refunds may be requested and paid in full if you contact us and cancel your registration by December 8, 2018. Any refunds requested after December 8, 2018 and before July 1, 2019, will be refunded 50%. After July 1, 2019, there will be no refunds for this event. However, you can transfer your ticket to another person for a $50 transfer fee.
